Boy killed, 5 injured as Pakistan violates ceasefire”

A 10-year-old boy was killed and five others were injured in firing by Pakistani troops near Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch sector this morning, the army said.

"Pakistan is resorting to heavy firing". The casualties occurred as some of the shells fell in Kerni village.

"Pakistani forces started unprovoked shelling and firing at Indian positions and the military is befittingly responding", a senior officer informed. The Indian forces have retaliated in equal measure. "Shelling and firing exchanges are going on", the sources added.

Pakistan violated ceasefire at multiple occasions in September. The most recent incident took place on Wednesday when the Pak troops shelled LoC at Poonch and Bhimbher ali sector.

"During the past two months, there have been almost 50 infiltration attempts from across the border and 44 of them were successfully foiled by alert troops", said Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh.

Three civilians have got injured in Pakistani shelling as the country broke the ceasefire agreement once again.
