'Rick and Morty' fans rejoince! McDonald's to bring back Szechuan sauce”

An episode of "Rick and Morty" ended with a plea for McDonald's to bring back its Szechuan McNugget sauce. For those that don't know, the famous fast-food chain originally offered its Szechuan Sauce way back in 1998 as part of their promotional campaign for Disney's latest animated film, Mulan.

Now here's the problem - McDonald's isn't permanently bringing back the sweet nugget sauce.

However, the sauce has found its way back into the mainstream.

"That's my one-armed man".

You did it, Rick and Morty. While most fans are stoked, there are some who are little less than thrilled about their odds - or lack of them - at getting their hands on the sauce. In a press release, a company representative confirmed the sauce would be available in "limited quantities for alimited run available in restaurant for one day only". Along with the sauce, posters are being created to celebrate the event. You can look to see if there's one near you on this website, and if you're - I'm sorry for the bad pun, blame McDonald's - obsauced enough to chase it.

This news comes shortly after McDonald's had promised to send Roiland his very own bottle in July, which he announced during Rick and Morty's SDCC 2017 panel. Shortly thereafter, McDonald's had given away 64 oz. bottles of the sauce to fans on Twitter, which were then sold online for thousands of dollars.

McDonald's made the announcement Sunday that select locations will carry a limited amount of Szechuan Sauce next Saturday, Oct. 7.

The announcement of the sauce coincided with the season finale of "Rick and Morty", which aired on Adult Swim on Sunday.

However, it doesn't really matter if fans are happy or frustrated, everyone could agree on one thing and that is on the impact Rick and Morty had on bringing the discontinued sauce back, even if for just one day.
