In their resolution, the KSBC had asked the advocates to abstain from appearing in their respective courts on Wednesday, October 4,2017, as a mark of "protest" and to vindicate the independence of judiciary and also to restore the faith in the system in the light of NJAC verdict having sought for transparency in collegium, appointment of judges independence of judiciary. Meanwhile, the Advocates Association of Bengaluru has also supported the call given by KSBC. "It has been chose to address a strong protest letter to His Excellency President of Indian, Collegium of the Supreme Court, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Law minister not to cause any injustice/ discrimination in the matter of election to the higher post of the judiciary". The senior judge was the Acting Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court prior to his transfer to Karnataka.
