Las Vegas shooter's girlfriend back in US, FBI to question her

Las Vegas shooter's girlfriend back in US, FBI to question her”

Paddock wired $100,000 to an account in his live-in girlfriend's home country, the Philippines, in the week before he unleashed the worst mass shooting in modern USA history, according to multiple senior law enforcement officials. Some news reports, citing anonymous law enforcement officials, have said that Paddock wired $100,000 into the Philippines in the week before the attack.

Although the authorities are still unable to explain why a 64-year-old gambler and retired accountant should want to carry out a mass shooting by hauling such a vast arsenal of weapons to the hotel, they do know there was a high degree of planning.

The cameras Paddock set up at the Mandalay Bay hotel casino were part of his extensive preparations that included stockpiling almost two dozen guns in his room before opening fire on the concert below. Investigators found a computer and 23 guns in Paddock's hotel room.

Danley, an Australian citizen reported to have been born in the Philippines, had been sharing Paddock's condo at a retirement community in Mesquite, Nevada, about 90 miles (145 km) northeast of Las Vegas, according to police and public records.

Paddock, who killed 58 people in the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history, left no clear clues as to his motive.

The abuse would come when she asked to use his casino card to make the purchase, Mendoza said.

It said investigators were trying to trace the money and were probing at least a dozen financial reports over the past several weeks that said Paddock gambled more than $10,000 per day.

Paddock and Danley are believed to have been a couple since at least 2013, when Paddock reportedly joined her on a trip to visit family in the Philippines.

Stephen Paddock's brother Bruce Paddock, who lives in California, said his family grew up in Sun Valley, California.

Stephen Paddock's brother, Eric, confirmed their father's identity in an interview Monday with CBS affiliate WKMG-TV.

The Philippines' National Bureau of Investigation said the FBI, its United States counterpart, had sought help in finding Danley.

The shooter rained machine gun fire down on the more than 20,000 attendees of the concert, with over 500 people suffering injuries in the resulting chaos.

"No one can put the puzzles together, no one, except Marilou, because Steve is not here to talk anymore", one of her sisters told a CNN affiliate. Her sister is "a good person" who would have tried to stop Paddock, she said.

Among the dead, was an unidentified Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer, who was off-duty at the time.
