Apple IPhone 8 Has Battery Issue

Apple IPhone 8 Has Battery Issueā€¯

Apple's iPhone is no stranger to controversy and the newest release is no exception.

It has been the largest elephant in the room for Apple aficionados, but on Friday, it finally was acknowledged: Apple's new iPhone 8 may be having problems with its battery.

Although details remain murky, it does not appear that any of these devices are delivered in a risky condition (it's not like the battery is about to combust) but it does cause inconvenience and create some bad PR for Apple.

Apple's spokesman has said that they have started an investigation of the issue.

So far, there have been at least six reports in which the iPhone 8 either arrived with a swollen battery or the device's battery was discovered to be swollen after charging.

The incident led Samsung and others to double down on battery safety and testing, with some winding back on more less proven developments and decreasing battery energy capacity to focus on proven technology and avoid a similar billion-pound catastrophe. Apple's newest iPhone is also having an issues with overall quality, with many users reporting a crackling or static noise when making calls. Since the phones have only been on sale for a few weeks, it's early in the life of the device.

Apple has another new iPhone model still to come. As per the reports, the phone or the packaging had no signs of explosion or burn. Liu bought the device from JD.com which means Apple itself will not help him out (according to the paper).

Delays in shipping the high-priced iPhone X have already been a drag on Apple's stock. It must be noted that phones have minute tolerances, so even a minimal increase in the size of any component could render the device unusable. However, unlike the Note 7 fiasco, there might not be a recall of the iPhone 8 as no injury or any possibility of it has been reported as yet. Apple's shares on Friday afternoon fell 0.2 percent. Investors are concerned that the pre-orders this time will be less than the previous iPhones.
