Wanted man taunts police on Facebook, it backfires big time

It was fought with Facebook shares. When Torino become aware of the warrants he sent a challenge to a suburban Detroit police department via Facebook.

Champagne Torino was wanted by police on several misdemeanor charges, reported CBS Detroit. Redford police chose to "drop the mic" on Torino after easily winning the bet.

As of Monday morning, the post has received over 3,800 shares and Torino had not turned himself in. "Let's see if you can get those shares". Torino sent a private Facebook message to Redford police saying if their next post got a thousand shares he'd turn himself in, bring a dozen doughnuts and clean up public schools in the area. "Mr. "Torino" gave us a challenge", RTPD wrote in a different post, following the completion of the challenge.

The department was particularly excited about the donuts.

"... Donuts! He promised us donuts! You know how much we love Donuts!" police re-posted to their social media community.

The department then thanked all the supporters who shared the post and setting Torino up for a day of picking up trash.

The department took up the gauntlet, posting a status with a screenshot of the wanted man's claim, with the caption that began with "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!"

"It's fantastic the support we get from the community", the department wrote. "That challenge was accepted".

Meanwhile, many Facebook users taunted Torino for his empty words and his failure to keep his end of the deal. Will he be a man of his word? It is our experience everyone gets caught at some point.
