CBS clarifies statement on whether Colin Kaepernick would stand for national anthem”

Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers looks on from the sidelines during the second half against the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome on December 18, 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Over the weekend, Vice President Mike Pence said he had left a game between the Indianapolis Colts and the San Francisco 49ers after some players choose to kneel. Kaepernick was not worked out and the Titans reportedly did not have interest in him.

The latest controversy about Kaepernick - that he would would stand for the anthem if rehired - began when CBS reporter Jason La Canfora said of the player whom he had interviewed: "He's not planning on kneeling". He also plans to donate the money from his jersey sales to charity. Later on Twitter, La Canfora doubled down on his reports that Kaepernick is working hard to return to the NFL.

Here's the video of the reporter talking about the claim before he clarified it.

La Canfora described Kaepernick's daily workout, saying Kaepernick wakes up at 4 a.m.in New York City, gets a ride to New Jersey and does a multihour workout that includes more than 100 passes.

- Kaepernick doesn't want to go on camera because he thinks he would be labeled a "distraction" by NFL GMs looking for quarterbacks. "When I was asked about his whether or not he would sit or stand for anthem ..."

As for the Blowhard-In-Chief, I wish he had told the employers of people who march under the flags of groups that actually took up arms against the American flag that they should "fire those SOBs", instead of telling us there were "many fine people" in those groups. "Colin and I didn't discuss".

In that piece, Schefter wrote that, according to his sources, "Colin Kaepernick will stand during the national anthem next season".

"Colin would have to address any future demonstrations", Mr La Canfora said in one tweet.
