Nadal conquers frustrated Kyrgios to win 75th career title

Disgruntled Nick Kyrgios was hit with a penalty point and said he got "destroyed" as World No 1 Rafael Nadal cruised to his sixth title of another remarkable year. The superiority of the Majorcan was evident, and his opponent of the day did not exist of the meeting, if not two-three times, to go yelling at the referee.

Nadal, 31, secured the opening set thanks to two breaks of serve before racing through the second set against an out of sorts Kyrgios who struggled to cope with the greater consistency from Nadal's racket.

Nick Kyrgios lost control of his emotions during the China Open final against Rafael Nadal, in which he received a point penalty following a series of verbal disagreements with the umpire.

Kyrgios has revealed his desire to build a facility for disadvantaged and underprivileged kids after he crumbled in the China Open final to fall 6-2, 6-1 in Beijing. Kyrgios, who is known for his big serves, took the attack to Zverev early in the match and decimated him 63, 7-5.

The world No. 19 shook his head and continued the discussion as he trudged back to his chair, initially to whistles from the crowd and then cheers to encourage him. "And if I'm angry, I'm not going to win the match".

"Of course, it is a very important achievement for me to continue with the positive feelings after winning the US Open".

It is just the latest indiscretion for Kyrgios, 22, whose potential has often been betrayed by his temperament - including at last year's Shanghai Masters, where he was fined for "lack of best efforts" in an extraordinary defeat to Mischa Zverev.

Garcia also won her final in straight sets.

This was Nadal's second China Open title in four trips to the final.

Elsewhere, Frenchman Lucas Pouille also progressed as he ousted Russian Daniil Medvedev 6-4, 6-2.

Relishing Sunday's clash with Nadal, the Spanish 16-time Grand Slam champion, Kyrgios added: "He's one of the greatest players of all time and we've played a couple of times - he's beaten me and I've beaten him (this year)".
