Odia software engineer stabbed to death in Bengaluru”

Pranay Mishra, a 28-year-old from Odisha, was on his way to his girlfriend's house early Monday when he was murdered.

Bengaluru police said after a party at his friend's residence on Sunday night, Mishra returned home around 2.45 a.m. After that, he reportedly called his girlfriend and fixed an appointment to meet her in a few minutes.

The incident came to light when the victim's girlfriend called him and the phone was attended by a person, who informed about her about the incident.

Pranay Mishra, from Bhubaneswar and a resident of Tavarekere, was on his way to meet his woman friend and colleague who stayed in the neighbourhood when he was killed. Pranay was stabbed many times in the stomach and neck.

He added, "Mishra was rushed to hospital after someone cited him bleeding profusely, Doctors of the hospital had declared him brought dead".

"His murderers fled the incident site after he collapsed", added police.

Police said they have collected the CCTV footages from the cameras installed around the junction where Mishra was stabbed. He was working with Accenture. A murder case has been registered and an investigation is on to find out the reason behind the murder. His sister worked in Bengaluru as a techie.
