Twitter reverses decision to block candidate's Senate video”

U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., today celebrated what she called "our first Senate conservative victory" after Twitter reversed course and allowed her U.S. Senate campaign to resume promoting a video that included anti-abortion comments the tech company initially deemed "inflammatory". With the ability to reach hundreds of millions of people each day, social media sites have as much or more potential than television and radio to sway public opinion and the outcome of Democratic elections.

Blackburn was referring to her work as the chairwoman of a House panel investigating the use of fetal tissue for research following the 2015 release of a series of undercover videos targeting Planned Parenthood. "But the liberal left can not continue to think they have the right to censor free speech, and especially with campaign messages with which they disagree".

"I think what has happened, the American people rose up", Blackburn said on Fox News' The Story with Martha MacCallum. "They are sick and exhausted of the liberal elites and the liberal media telling them what they're going to listen to, and what is going to be pushed forward and broadcast and what is not, and in this example it was Twitter".

According to Blackburn, Twitter's picking and choosing of ideas to either promote or block is infringing on Americans' free speech. "Because we stood firm and Twitter reconsidered, and they are going to allow us to put my campaign announcement back up to push it out on their platform - which is exactly what we're going to do".

"We protect women", she said.

Meanwhile, former chief strategist Steve Bannon, who is now back at Breitbart, has vowed to rid Washington D.C. of "the swamp", but Blackburn, as a current representative, said she is not anxious as she is not part of the establishment.

"Blackburn had also responded to Twitter's decision to censor her campaign ad by tweeting, "@Twitter shut down our video ad, claiming it's "inflammatory" & "negative".

Blackburn announced her intention to run for retiring Sen.

Twitter's censorship in favor of Planned Parenthood or abortion did not start with the Blackburn campaign. Some of the Live Action content that Twitter objected to was identical to the content in Ms. Blackburn's now-permitted advertising, so there's no longer a rational basis for it to ban Live Action's ads.

SBA List was told that the tweet "violated Twitter's policy prohibiting 'the promotion of health and pharmaceutical products and services'".

Live Action was informed it must delete all of its tweets calling for an end of taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood, all of its tweets on its undercover investigations into Planned Parenthood, and any ultrasound images of preborn children.
