YouTube is testing autoplaying videos in its Android app

Time and again, we have spent hours browsing and fishing out creative videos that would blow us away and one such video that we've come across today is this girl whose hair design would not only amaze you, but we bet you'd want to give this a try as well. When you'll tap the video, it will play the video for you normally.

While you can see a complete video this way, the playback will stop as soon as you scroll up or down, resulting in the current video (that's now visible on screen) being auto-played. Google appears to be testing that feature on the YouTube app as well, but not on everyone's devices. Videos also play with closed captions turned on so you don't miss a piece of dialogue.

The main difference is that, unlike Facebook, the YouTube app doesn't automatically start blasting you with sound - you'll have to manually open the video for that.

Android Central says autoplay, which YouTube calls Play As You Browse, is enabled by default, but you have the option to either disable it completely or tweak the setting so videos only play automatically when you're connected to a Wi-Fi network.

However, this is an optional feature. You can either turn it off or set it to Wifi only, so that the videos play automatically only when you are connected to Wifi.

As autoplay on the home page is still being tested, the feature has only gone live on a select number of users' handsets so far. YouTube has not mentioned when it is going to make the feature available for everyone.
