Antonio Conte set to provide clarity on N'Golo Kante injury

Antonio Conte set to provide clarity on N'Golo Kante injuryā€¯

Striker Morata missed worldwide duty with Spain with a hamstring injury sustained against Manchester City on September 30, but after initial fears of a long lay-off he then targeted the Palace contest.

One of football fans' main fears is that a key man will go away on global duty, only to come back injured.

Chelsea fear that N'Golo Kante's injury is far worse than the club first thought with the midfielder set to miss upwards of a month (via The Telegraph).

After winning the 2016/17 Premier League season at a canter, things have gone from bad to worse for Chelsea FC - missing out on several summer targets, and not being able to replace players departing Stamford Bridge.

Morata picked up a hamstring issue in the loss to Manchester City just before the two-week global break.

So while the striker could be fit by the middle of next week when Chelsea face Roma in the Champions League, it could be the end of October before Kante is back in action. Indeed, no player has won possession in the midfield third more times than Kante (35) in the Premier League this season, with the former Leicester man ranking second for tackles and interceptions combined (43) in England's top tier this term.

Tiemoue Bakayoko and Cesc Fabregas could now be Conte's preferred midfield duo.

The worldwide break is basically over, but it didn't quite go exactly to plan.

The report now claims that this could rule him of Chelsea's next six games in all competitions.
