Kaka not renewing Orlando contract at end of season

Kaka not renewing Orlando contract at end of season”

Former Brazil star Kaka will leave Orlando City when his contract ends in December. Neither of those questions were answered.

Kaka, the symbol of Brazilian-owned Orlando City since its arrival in MLS in 2015, won't return to the club after his contract expires at the end of the season.

Kaka did not announce what his plans will be now that he will not be renewing his $7 million Major League Soccer contract.

Kaká, although originally from Brazil, began his American career in 2013, when he joined Orlando City.

Kaka won both the Champions League and Serie A during his time at AC Milan, which saw him score 70 goals in 193 games for the Italian giants.

As the highest-paid player in MLS, Kaka was named an All-Star in each of his first three seasons with the Lions.

One thing the 35-year-old was keen to reiterate was that his decision has nothing to do with his increase in injuries, which has restricted Kaka to just 22 appearances in 2017.

Kaka insisted he remains undecided on what his next step will be, but clarified that his previous comments regarding his physical condition will not impact whether he plays on or not.

Kaka, who has led Orlando City in assists each year with the team, will play the final two matches of the season - Sunday at home against Columbus and at Philadelphia on October 22.

"You were a very important ingredient for the success of this club", da Silva said.
