Marvel boss: The upcoming films are all very different

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be familiar with Marvel's regular presence in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con, hosting huge panels to unveil upcoming movies, announce new cast members and take questions from fans. Disney (Marvel's owners) and Star Wars (also owned by Disney) both have their own dedicated conventions, so it's easy to see the logic here. "Thor: Ragnarok", is due to premiere next month, while four more movies are in various stages of production to arrive in the coming years.

It's interesting that Marvel is thinking about organizing its own convention.

"Over the years there have been discussions about that".

"Over the years there have been discussions about that", the Marvel bigwig told the publication, "I think what we try to do occasionally in San Diego we're very proud of and think is a fun tradition". I've been to a few Celebrations and the idea of doing something like that ... In a new article on ComicBook, Feige is quoted as saying that a Marvel-only convention has been discussed in the past.

"We are going to be publishing an official, and I'm not sure when, or in what format, an official timeline", he said.

That's a promising statement, and even though we haven't seen too much from Infinity War or Ant-Man and the Wasp yet, it's clear that Ragnarok and Black Panther couldn't be more different, so that's encouraging for those who prefer a bit of visual differentiation between these movies.

Star Wars Celebration is a vast Star Wars fan event, operating on a similar scale to Comic-Con. But instead, the studio made a decision to update fans on only two films.

Do you want to see different? The rise of the MCU has seen the Marvel brand reach new heights of recognition, popularity and bankability, and fans the world over would surely part with some cash to attend a special fan event.
