Pizza Hut's New Delivery Bags Keep Your Pizza So Much Hotter

With this new delivery pouches, delivery of hot pizzas will be so much easier. The coat also comes with a splash guard and a window in the sleeve, so you can still order pizza on your phone in the dead of winter.

Keeping those pies hot en route to delivery customers has always been a challenge for pizza restaurateurs, but Pizza Hut has rolled out a system created to get the pie to the person in "oven-hot" form, a news release said.

How? With a pouch made of high-tech insulation and a "re-engineered pizza box".

Along with a new box and the pizza chain's commitment to hiring 14,000 more drivers are all aimed at delivering customers the hottest pizza possible.

Pizza Hut's boxes got an upgrade too: they're thicker with heat-trapping sides and a "crisp sheet" layered between the box and your pizza to keep the crust crispy while in transport. The delivery system is being updated as well and, using an algorithm, can account for things such as weather, construction, traffic, and other irregularities in the delivery pattern.

The company spent more than 2 years developing the technology.

Pizza Hut has a history of weird new "products" that are tragically just concepts announced as a stunt (sorry, no pie-ordering hi-top sneakers for you).
