Roger Goodell's Wife Uses Anonymous Twitter Account To Defend Him”

That's because the enigmatic account has been outed by The Wall Street Journal as the commissioner's wife, Jane Skinner Goodell. That was the clue that tipped WSJ off that Jane Skinner Goodell was behind it.

"It was a REALLY silly thing to do and done out of frustration-and love", said Skinner Goodell.

Goodell sent tweets criticizing reporters such as "Reads like press release from the players' union" (regarding recent league controversies) and a defense of the commissioner and his father, a former senator who earned the ire of the Nixon administration.

The Twitter account was marked private and then later deleted after the Wall Street Journal contact Mrs. Goodell about it.

She also replied to ProFootballTalk one time for saying that Goodell needed to take responsibility for resolving player protests. "He is already doing this". In response, @forargument tweeted: 'Please do better reporting.

"I'm also a wife and a mom", she continued. I have always passionately defended the hard-working guy I love-and I always will. "Let's celebrate the new season". She confirmed that she uses a fake twitter account to defend her husband. That account was deactivated Thursday, but not before responding to journalists who posted less-then-positive tweets about the commissioner over the past few months.

The Wall Street Journal figured out the account belonged to Jane Goodell based on her Twitter follows, which included accounts related to her children's schools. He added that Goodell was unaware of his wife's activity.

The former broadcaster is not afraid to speak out on behalf of her husband.
