Police arrest Panthers fan caught on video brutally attacking another fan

Video has emerged showing the moment a fight broke out at Bank of America Stadium Thursday night, as Carolina Panthers fans were watching their team take on the Philadelphia Eagles. A few hours later, they announced he was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

Maraghy, who has a tattoo of a hammer modeled after the comic book character Thor with the Panthers" phrase "Keep Pounding', has had several infractions and criminal complaints issued against him since 2011. He is facing a charge of simple assault. Carrigan said in his post the man who eventually was punched wasn't happy that Maraghy and his girlfriend stood in front of him throughout the game.

Over the course of the game, words between the couple and the older man got more escalated, according the Instagram poster, odubco.

Carrigan said on Facebook that the two men argued and that a woman and her son, seated between them, left in the third quarter.

FOX 46 confirmed a police report was filed by the victim, a 62-year-old man.

The Panthers fan ran away while witnesses called for security, as seen on the video published on Crossing Broad.

"Then (he) sucker punches him right in the face", Carrigan writes.

The victim was treated at the scene and released. He is being taken to jail.

A spokesperson said: 'We are aware of it and are in contact with club security.

"We take all of these very seriously", Lockhart said, per NFL Media.

The NFL is also investigating the incident.

"We have reviewed video tape of the incident and have identified the perpetrator", a statement from the organization to to ESPN said.

The ugly incident occurred during Friday's game between the Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles, and is a sobering reminder of why, for many National Football League fans, the TV experience is far preferable to the in-person one.
