Samsung launches NB-IoT GPS smart tag 'Connect'

Samsung launches NB-IoT GPS smart tag 'Connect'”

Based on the Tizen operating system, the Samsung Connect Tag can be clipped to a range of objects and, using a combination of NB-IoT, Cat.M1, GPS and GLONASS, it will report the location of whatever it is attached to.

You can find out more details about the new Samsung Connect Tag over at Samsung at the link below. It is created to make it possible to keep track of anything you can't bear to lose, from a bag or keys, to a child or pet.

Samsung Electronics is all set to launch a smart tag that uses an NB- IoT network. The Samsung Connect Tag provides location information both indoors and out using GPS, Wi-Fi based positioning, and cell ID for location tracking.

There is no shortage of little portable tracker devices that you can attach to your keys or your dog to ensure you never lose the things that matter most to you.

Note: Samsung Connect Tag and its controller app will work only with Android M and above devices. It can also be tied into Samsung's own SmartThings ecosystem of smart devices and home appliances. It also has a geo-fence feature to notify users when it has left or re-enters a specified virtual zone.

The Send my location function will send their current location to their guardian, so even a young child can let you know exactly where he or she is and can go pick him/her up safely. It also offers features to minimise anxiety and increase usability.

Connect Tag features a compact size, measuring just 4.21 centimeters wide and 1.19 centimeters thick, as well as IP68 water and dustproof rating for durability. The Tag is clubbed with a battery that is expected to last for up to seven days on a single charge. Connect Tag comes with an exclusive ring that easily attaches to bags, collars or key rings. It says the Connect Tag will go on sale starting from South Korea in the coming months. Connect Tag will be showcased at the Samsung Developer Conference 2017 to be held on October 18-19 in San Francisco, United States.
