Here We Go Again: Cher Joins Cast Of 'Mamma Mia' Sequel”

It will be released officially on 20 July, 2018 - ten years and two days after Mamma Mia! opened. Here We Go Again, Universal Pictures' sequel to its 2008 hit musical, completed filming on the remote Croatian island of Vis. She simply captioned the Tweet with a kiss emoji. "IM IN MOMMA MIA2" (sic).

Over the weekend, she teased her Mamma Mia appearance on Twitter.

When in need of a dancing queen, you can't do better than Cher. She has not revealed any details about the character she will be playing in the movie, but editors at the Daily Mail report she will be featured in two song and dance sequences. "It'll spoil the fun if we give anything away", an executive producer for the film told the MailOnline.

She previously won an Academy Award for 1988's Moonstruck.

"Mamma Mia" was a huge hit back in 2008 becoming the highest-grossing film of all time at the United Kingdom box office taking £69.2m. It has since been dethroned by "Avatar", "Skyfall", and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".

Aside from Streep and Firth, numerous stars from the 2008 film will return, including Julie Walters, Christine Baranski, Amanda Seyfried, Dominic Cooper, Pierce Brosnan, and Stellan Skarsgard. Cher is joining the cast of Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again and honestly I can't think of anything on this putrid earth I'm more interested in at this moment in time.
