The death toll from Saturday's suicide truck bombing in Mogadishu has climbed to 276 dead and more than 300 others injured, Somalia's Minister of Information Abdirahman Omar Osman said late Sunday.

No terrorist group has taken credit for the attack, and President Mohamed Abdullahi "Farmajo" Mohamed called it a "heinous act", pointing to Islamist al-Shabab as the culprit.

The SITE Intelligence Group says al-Shabab has recently posted claims of responsibility for other attacks on Somali and African Union forces but not for Saturday's blast.

Mogadishu's Aamin Ambulance service tweeted that the death toll has risen to 302, citing different medical institutions.

Still, analysts said on Mondaay there was little doubt the group carried out the bombing, one of the deadliest in sub-Saharan Africa.

Almost 70 people remained missing, based on accounts from relatives, said police Capt. Mohamed Hussein.

Officials say more than 70 critically injured people are being airlifted to Turkey for treatment as worldwide aid begins to arrive.

The attack was one of the worst in the world in recent years. Somali medical centers have been running out of blood.

Earlier, Turkey's Health Minister Ahmet Demircan arrived in the Somali capital to oversee Turkish assistance accompanied by 33 staff, including a medical team specializing in emergency services, the Turkish Embassy said in a statement.
