'Trailer Park Boys' Star John Dunsworth Dies at 71”

John Dunsworth, actor best known as Mr. Lahey on the comedy series "Trailer Park Boys", has died at the age of 71, according to multiple news sources.

Dunsworth's daughter told a Canadian outlet her father died after a brief and unexpected illness.

The family has asked for privacy at this time. "Trailer Park Boys" has been on air for 11 seasons.

"John was a lovely guy. RIP my friend", Smith said.

The Canadian actor was a native of Nova Scotia.

"So sad. RIP John Dunsworth".

Members of legendary Canadian rock band Rush, who appeared as guest stars on the television show, posted a message on Twitter saying it was "heartbreaking" to hear of Dunsworth's death. "One of the finest men and most brilliant actors I've ever had the honor to work with", tweeted comedian and actor Tom Arnold. Dunsworth played the park supervisor Jim Lahey, who was, more often than not, drunk while trying to stop the scheming of trailer park residents Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles.

Dunsworth was part of the Nova Scotia theatre and acting community for decades and recent roles included the mysterious reporter Dave Teagues on the supernatural drama series Haven.
