Kenya: Businessman Jimi Wanjigi, His Wife in Court to Block Arrest”

He is said to have locked himself up in the house on Monday to avoid arrest after police officers recovered a cache of weapons at another home in Malindi suspected to belong to him.

Police findings indicated that there were deadlier firearms found in Wanjigi's house excluding the AK-47 rifles.

Dennis Onyango, Raila's chief communicator, said via a statement that the Opposition leader was at the home which was turned upside down by Recce Squad officers earlier in the day, to keep watch over the situation.

The business mogul had moved to court and obtained a court order that barred the police officers from arresting him.

Winnie Odinga took this photo outside Wanjigi's home on Tuesday, October 17, before she and her father went inside.

The couple want police prohibited and restrained from trespassing, breaking into, entering or in any way interfering with their private residences and offices pending determination of the case.

City tycoon Jimmy Wanjigi.

Controversial businessman Jimi Wanjigi has finally emerged from his house after police called off a search and hunt for him.

Throughout the night Raila engaged the special police that have camped at Jimmy's residence several hours after high court gave orders to all government agencies to stop harrasing, intimidating or arresting Mr Wanjigi.

"Raila is still inside".
