Blast hits mosque in Kabul, leaving casualties”

A gunman opened fire on worshippers in a Shiite mosque in Kabul on Friday, police said, in the latest attack to hit the Afghan capital.

The spokesperson of the region, Abdul Hai Khatibi said that the explosion happened when the worshippers were praying inside the mosque.

At least 45 people were injured in the attack, according to an official at the Interior Ministry, cited by AP.

On Tuesday, a suicide and gun attack on a police training centre on Tuesday in southeast Afghanistan has killed at least 32 people and wounded more than 200. The attacker entered inside the mosque and detonated the explosives.

The blast took place inside Imam Zamam Mosque in Dholana district of Ghor province in western Kabul as per AFP. All three of the attacks targeted security forces and were claimed by the Taliban.

Eyewitnesses told local media that more than 30 people had been killed and around 50 others wounded in the attack but those figures could not be immediately verified.
