Burger King Punks Own Customers In Anti-Bullying PSA

Burger King Punks Own Customers In Anti-Bullying PSA”

October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and Miami-based fast food chain Burger King is highlighting the problem in a unique way.

First, a high school junior is bullied by friends (all actors), and then a Whopper Jr. sandwich is bullied - punched, smashed, destroyed and then served by a staffer (also an actor). It's easy to see how the tone could be off when discussing such a powerful topic.

"We know that bullying takes on many forms, physical, verbal, relational and online".

While most customers silently eyed the human bullying, almost everyone customer approached the counter - sometimes walking past the real bullying - to complain about their mashed burgers. Hopefully, that's something all of us can chew on the next time we bite into our lunch.

"The Burger King brand is known for putting the crown on everyone's head and allowing people to have it their way".

Would you stand up if you saw a child being bullied?

You'd think the idea of bullying a Whopper Jr. would be too goofy to work, but in the end, it does work-more memorably, in fact, than many other anti-bullying ads.

The CEO and founder of No Bully says the group's partnership with Burger King is an example of how companies can raise awareness of important issues. "You have to start somewhere and they chose to start within".
