Boy, 3, critical after being shot in the head in North Philly

Boy, 3, critical after being shot in the head in North Philly”

Police in Philadelphia say a three-year-old is in critical condition after being shot in the head by his six-year-old brother.

Police said the younger sibling was shot in the left side of his forehead shortly after 3pm EST (8pm BST) on Saturday (21 October) in the north of the city.

"When I heard about the little boy my heart just broke down", neighbor Marainda Stewart told CBS Philadelphia.

It's not clear where the parents were or how the children got access to a handgun in the home.

Sirhaven Williams, 36, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person, police said Sunday. "I'm praying to god that the little boy makes it through". They and a third brother, who is 12, were allegedly home alone at the time. The gun reportedly belong to the boys' uncle, who lives with the family.

Neighbors were shocked to learn about the tragic shooting.

Helen Williams told ABC6: "I'm feeling hurt and I'm feeling destroyed inside because we have to be more protective of our children, and the things we allow them to get involved with". "No it's unbelievable and it's unacceptable".
