Colin Kaepernick Reportedly Inks Million Dollar Book Deal”

When the new season kicked off in September of this year, Kaepernick did not have a job.

Colin Kaepernick, the NFL player at the forefront of protests that have swept the league and raised the ire of President Trump, has signed a book deal, Page Six reported.

The athlete, who's now a free agent, has been struggling to get signed by an NFL team, many attributing his political activism and kneeling during the national anthem as one of the reasons teams are wary to sign him. According to PageSix, Kaepernick has reportedly inked a $1 million book deal with Random House's One World imprint, which is headed by editor Chris Jackson and publishes Between The World and Me author Ta-Nehisi Coates.

Page Six also previously reported that the former QB was "taking meetings with publishers in the NY offices of WME". Surely he has thoughts on what has transpired this season, for example, with other players taking up the reins in his absence and the new President of the United States seeing fit to use his aptly-named bully pulpit to attack National Football League players for peacefully protesting.

Kaepernick was the first NFL player to take a knee during the national anthem before games during the 2016 season.
