Cop celebrates child's birthday after child is left at school”

A police officer went out of his way to help a Green Bay boy feel special on his birthday. A child was not picked up by anyone after school and police were called.

The child's parent is in jail and the school did not have any other family contacts.

A Green Bay police officer is being praised after he picked up a child from school - left alone on his birthday.

It was also the child's birthday.

According to the post, after their meal, the two also took Robinson's police vehicle for a spin before the child was dropped off with his family.

The post has been shared more than 1,500 times and people commended the officer for how he handled the situation.

'What a fine officer, ' Bill Bongle wrote. No one is more committed to the community than Officer Darryl Robinson.

The police force eventually managed to locate some of the boy's relatives, and he was dropped off with them. "That little boy will remember that for the rest of his life", read one comment that had been liked or loved more than 190 times.

Officer Robinson also chose to take the child around a couple of blocks inside his patrol auto for his birthday. "Thanks to the officer for making that boys birthday a little better".
