Destiny 2 PC Players Are Still Being Banned Without Reason

Destiny 2 PC Players Are Still Being Banned Without Reason”

Its most recent statement reiterates this, adding the game can not automatically ban players.

Hundreds of Destiny 2 PC players have reported being banned from the game, with no consensus as to why. They claim that nothing nefarious is being done at their end.

After a day's worth of the rumor mill grinding away about Destiny 2 and mass bans ostensibly at the hands of third-party programs like Discord overlays, Bungie has responded definitively in order to stop the flow of disinformation. No timescale for the ban is given, simply asking affected players to visit the Bungie ban webpage. Full information on which third-party apps are and are not compatible with Destiny 2's PC version can be found on the Bungie website.

We're hopeful that Bungie will issue a statement as to the nature of the bans and that more explanation will be provided. In an effort to cut down on cheating, programs that use overlays can not be used with the game.

Since then, Bungie appear to be doubling down on the idea that players who received bans were up to no good. Today they released a blog post telling you why. They did not and will not issue bans to players using video recording, video streaming, and communication programs including Discord, Xsplit, OBS, RTSS, and more.

Bungie has also listed the third party applications that are not allowed when playing Destiny 2 on PC.

Personally, I hate cheaters. I'd also happily boil my pasta in the salty tears of people who get banned, but there is enough noise being made on the Bungie forums about this that something might be amiss.
