Former production assistant becomes latest Harvey Weinstein accuser

Former production assistant becomes latest Harvey Weinstein accuser”

The disgraced movie mogul pinned new accuser Mimi Haleyi down in a surprise attack at his Manhattan residence, removed her tampon and performed oral sex on her without her consent, she told reporters Tuesday. "But he insisted", Ms Haleyi told a press conference in NY.

According to Haleyi, she first met Weinstein at the London premiere of "The Aviator" in 2004. After asking the producer for a job in NY, she claimed he invited her back to his hotel to talk about it. But after the Weinstein allegations began pouring in, they said, "it's like an invisible dam collapsed".

Allred said she has not contacted police or made plans to file a civil lawsuit.

In an advisory about today's news conference, Allred had promised to present a "new low" in the catalog of misdeeds by Weinstein, who has been fired from the company and expelled from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as the scandal has metastasized.

This time, he was "completely charming and a total gentleman" Haleyi said.

Like numerous accusers, she described a hotel meeting in Cannes that involved Weinstein asking for a massage.

The persistent 65-year-old moviemaker also asked her to join him on a jaunt to Paris to attend couture shows. Sensing the trip was "romantic" in nature, Haleyi said she declined the offer. Haleyi says Weinstein invited her over to his SoHo apartment and she agreed in order to "maintain a relationship".

"I said, 'I am on my period". "That's when he backed off".

When he returned from Paris, Weinstein asked her to meet at his loft apartment in Soho. "I wonder if it had been strategically placed there", Haleyi said. "It was not long before he was all over me, making sexual advances", she said. "I was hoping to keep a connection going", she said.

"He wouldn't take no for an answer and backed me into a room which was not lit", she claimed. I tried to get away, tried to get him off me, and kept asking him to stop but it was impossible.

She continued, "He then orally forced himself on me while I was on my period". I was mortified. I was in disbelief and disgusted.

Through tears, she added: "I would not have wanted anyone to do that to me even if the person had been a romantic partner".

"I remember Harvey after rolling onto his back afterwards saying, 'Don't you think we are so much closer to each other now?' To which I replied, 'No.'"

Although she said she had no personal run-ins with him during production on 2005's The Great Raid, she did warn her young co-star not to accept any drink invitations from the producer unless she knew others would be present.
