This is where the new Legoland will be opened”

A third North American Legoland theme park celebrating the distinctive multi-colored toy bricks is to be built in NY state in a US$350 million investment by Britain's Merlin Entertainments, the company said on Thursday.

Varney spoke of the uniqueness of Legoland parks and stated that Merlin had chosen an outstanding area to build the newest park. The parent company also operates Madame Tussauds wax museums and United Kingdom theme park Alton Towers. Goshen is located north of New York City, between Interstates 84 and 87, about 30 miles west of West Point. The board granted a site plan, special use permit, and clearing and grading permit approval to Merlin for the project.

The $350 million Legoland New York is slated to open in 2020.

At the ceremony, Varney spoke about the uniqueness of LEGOLAND parks and reinforced that Merlin picked an outstanding location to construct its newest LEGOLAND Park. Concerned Citizens for the Hudson Valley claim the town did not properly conduct an environmental impact review. This will include entry-level park positions and hospitality roles.

"Legoland New York is the first new major theme park in the North East of the US for several decades, and is perfectly located for visitors from New York, Boston and Philadelphia and beyond", Chief Executive Nick Varney said. This follows almost a year and a half of public meetings and hearings, and a thorough review process by the Planning Board.
