Honda gets sporty with EV concept in Tokyo

Honda gets sporty with EV concept in Tokyo”

Bearing a striking resemblance to the Honda CB1000R naked bike, and CB4 concept also showcased at 2015 EICMA, the new Honda Neo Sports Cafe concept is pure retro styling designed for fun as it rivals the Kawasaki Z900RS.

The Honda Urban EV concept was one of the biggest surprises of the last Frankfurt Motor Show and now it's been officially confirmed that we're getting a production version in 2019.

It hasn't been too long since Honda brought its Urban EV Concept to the Frankfurt Motor Show, and now the Japanese automaker has turned up with another electric auto concept at its home show in Tokyo this week.

Honda Neo Sports Café concept is seen in a metallic red finish with brushed aluminum accents on its tank, headlamp and at the rear.

The times may change, but Honda's love of sports is, and will always be its identity.

There's only one problem at this point: unlike with the Urban EV Concept, Honda hasn't said if or when the Sports EV might go into production. Built upon an EV-specific platform, this concept model is equipped with a highly responsive electric power unit in a easy to handle compact body. With "Honda Automated Network Assistant" using Honda's AI technology, the Honda Sports EV Concept aims to create communication that unites the driver and vehicle.

"Honda exhibited the world premiere of the Honda Sports EV Concept, a concept model which combines EV performance and AI (artificial intelligence) inside a compact body with the aim to realize the joy of driving the user can feel with a sense of unity with the auto".

As aforementioned, this is the concept model while the production spec Honda Neo Sports Cafe will make its global debut on November 6, 2017 at the EICMA motorcycle show.
