Selma Blair says James Toback implied that he could have her killed”

Rachel McAdams and Selma Blair have joined over 200 women who have come forward to accuse director James Toback of sexual harassment.

After he finished, Blair says Toback told her a pointed story about a girl who wanted to speak out about against him and that he threatened to have her kidnapped and tossed in the Hudson River "with cement blocks on her feet" if she ever talked about what happened between them.

Her experience with Toback took place in 1999 during a meeting to discuss his film Harvard Man, which he had written but not yet cast. "When he called these women liars, and said he didn't recall meeting them and that the behavior alleged could not be attributed to him, I just felt rage and an obligation to speak publicly now", Blair said. "His energy was so sinister".

Blair, 45, revealed that she encountered Toback, 72, in the late '90s during a business meeting arranged by her representatives.

In separate interviews with Vanity Fair, both actresses shared a similar pattern that Toback would follow to lure young women into doing sexual favors for him: He would invite them to his hotel room, simultaneously flatter them and say they need vast improvements, and then casually bring up the topics of masturbation and pubic hair.

"This has been such a source of shame for me - that I didn't have the wherewithal to get up and leave", she said.

Blair says she agreed not to talk about it and left the room, telling only her boyfriend what happened and made him promise not to repeat it.

Toback denied the allegations in the LA Times and claimed that he had not met any of the women involved in the story, but that, if he did, it was "for five minutes" and that he has "no recollection" of it.

Toback has yet to respond directly to Blair and McAdams' accusations. Toback could not be reached by Bustle for further comment.

At one point, McAdams said, Toback went to the bathroom.

"I have personally met at least FIFTEEN WOMEN, probably more, who say that he's accosted them in NYC", Gunn wrote.

McAdams alleged, "Pretty quickly the conversation turned quite sexual and he said, 'You know, I just have to tell you".

And Gunn wasn't alone in speaking out.

It was a few years later, in 2004, when McAdams' career started skyrocketing with a starring role in the movie Mean Girls. She eventually put her sweater back on, and according to her account, she was about to leave when Toback "started to rub his penis through his trousers", pressed against her leg, and forced her to look into his eyes.

"I took off my sweater", Blair says. He also claimed to the LA Times that for the past 22 years it would have been "biologically impossible" for him to partake in the behavior the women alleged because he had diabetes and a heart condition for which he was taking medication.

"Glenn add one more", she wrote, referring to Whipp. "I thought, 'Well, my representation sent me to see him".

She did, and the audition went well - so well, in fact, that Toback allegedly asked her to meet with him in his hotel room that same night to "workshop". McAdams says he then excused himself to go to the bathroom.

Julianne Moore has also spoken out, tweeting that Toback tried twice to meet with her in his apartment, and so did Today show host Natalie Morales, who said he approached her in Central Park with a film offer and told her she had to "show herself".

"This has all got to stop", McAdams told Vanity Fair. "This is all above board somehow.' Eventually I just realized that it wasn't".

Actress Ashley Judd says she escaped Harvey Weinstein's sexual advances by making a deal. "And hopefully we never slip back into the darkness again".
