Iran Will Continue To Produce Missiles, Says Rouhani”

According to the press release issued by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), its Director General Yukiya Amano met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Vice-President and President of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi, and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, during a visit to the capital, Tehran. "We will produce any weapons of any kind that we need and stockpile it and use it at any time to defend ourselves", Rouhani added. The document - the Iran Ballistic Missiles and International Sanctions Enforcement Act - was introduced in March.

"We have built missiles, we are building some and will continue to do so because it does not violate any global regulations - not even the UN Security Council's Resolution 2231" endorsing the deal, Rouhani said. Instead, he deferred the matter to Congress to establish new conditions.

"But we don't want that", he said.

"You are disregarding past negotiations and agreements approved by the UN Security council and expect others to negotiate with you?".

The head of the United Nations nuclear watchdog has arrived in Tehran for talks on October 29 with senior Iranian officials, as opposition from the United States threatens to undermine a landmark global agreement to limit Iran's nuclear program.

Signed by Iran, Germany, Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States, the landmark accord saw economic sanctions on Iran lifted in exchange for Tehran curbing its nuclear activities.

He said his inspectors have so far encountered no problems in investigating and determining whether Iran is complying with the deal. Washington has also demanded inspections of Iran's military sites, which Tehran has rejected.

The Daily Sabah reported that United Nations nuclear chief Yukiya Amano is to set to meet Iranian leaders on Sunday.
