Akshay Kumar's 'Padman' gets new release date”

The film was expected to hit the theatres in April 2018. With a release of new posters, the makers have also revealed its release date. Actually, Padman, directed by R. Balki which was supposed to release on 13th April, 2018 is now releasing on Republic Day on 26th January 2018.

After a stellar audio launch in Dubai, the hype for the Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 is at an all-time high.

Playing the protagonist in Padman, Kumar will star along with Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor, who play leading roles in the film, too.

The movie Padman is based on the real-life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham and his struggle and inspiration in life.

Akshay's wife Twinkle Khanna is also a producer on the film. According to Mid-day report, 2.O is said to be made on a budget of Rs. 450 crore and is touted to be the most expensive film made in India. The speculations have grown stronger after the release of Akshay Kumar's Hindi film Padman was advanced to January 26. As a result, the release of 2.0 is postponed, say rumour mills.

There is no doubt that Akshay Kumar's selection of scripts from last few years is definitely praiseworthy and audience is in love with it. This is the second time 2.0 has been postponed owing to VFX work. The shooting has been done though with Amy Jackson recently wrapping up a song.
