Kushner makes unannounced visit to Saudi Arabia”

Kushner, who has been tasked with bringing peace to the Middle East, left for Saudi Arabia on Wednesday and came back to the USA on Saturday, and was joined by Dina Powell, deputy national security adviser, and Jason Greenblatt, the Trump administration's Middle East envoy.

US President Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner returned on Saturday from a secret visit to Saudi Arabia, the American Politico journalism company revealed.

"The senior adviser to the president, the deputy national security adviser for strategy, and the special representative for global negotiations recently returned from Saudi Arabia", a senior White House official said. Politico notes that the White House has not released any details on Kushner's trip, including who he met with as a representative of the USA government. Kushner was joined by chief foreign negotiator Jason Greenblatt and deputy national security adviser Dina Powell, the only one of the three with foreign affairs experience.

'The key to solving that dispute is Egypt. According to Politico, which broke the story, while Kushner returned to the USA on Saturday, Greenblatt continued on to Amman, Cairo, Ramallah and Jerusalem.

It's unclear who Kushner met on this visit, but Politico notes that he has built a friendship with Saudi's crown prince, Mohammad Bin Salman.

Kushner has made several trips to the Middle East since joining the administration.

The president's son-in-law traveled to Israel in August to continue to broker peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

Kushner traveled separately from lasy week's visit to the Saudi capital of Riyadh by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, who was discussing closing down terrorists' funding.
