Rose McGowan breaks silence on Harvey Weinstein rape allegations

Rose McGowan breaks silence on Harvey Weinstein rape allegations”

Alleged Harvey Weinstein rape victim and actress, Rose McGowan made her first public appearance to discuss the disgraced producer at The Women's Convention in Detroit, Mich., Friday.

McGowan, delivering opening remarks at The Women's Convention in Detroit, thanked the audience "for giving me wings during this very hard time".

Speaking at The Women's Convention in Detroit, she thanked the crowd for their support in a "very hard time", saying she has had to endure seeing "the monster's face everywhere". "I have been slut shamed, I've been harassed, I've been maligned. I'm just like you", McGowan, 44, said.

"We are all Me Too's", McGowan said, according to video obtained by WXYZ-TV. It can not stand and will not stand.

Rodriguez told that casting Rose McGowan was kind of hitting back at Harvey Weinstein for his animal behavior and sexual instinct against women.

McGowan did not refer to Weinstein by name, only once obliquely referencing him as "the monster", and saying the past few weeks have been "triggering" to her thanks to his face being displayed everywhere.

McGowan has also been urging others to call out sexual harassment and assault on Twitter, using the hashtag #RoseArmy.

Since the original Times story came out, more and more women have come forward with sexual harassment allegations against Weinstein.

After the Scream actress claimed to the director that Weinstein raped her in a hotel room during the 1997 Sundance Film Festival, his "first reaction was one of shock", he said.

Weinstein representative Sallie Hofmeister has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex.

Weinstein was sacked from the Weinstein Company on October 8 after the New York Times published an expose detailing decades of sexual harassment allegations against him.

"No more. Name it. Shame it. Call it out", McGowan said. It is the mirror you are given to look into.

"I know the men behind that view". And they should not be in your mind... And women's bravery to step up and tell their stories, she says, stems from Trump winning the election.

In an essay for Variety, which was published on Friday, Robert explains he told Rose he wanted her to have a starring role in a big movie to take her off the blacklist, adding Harvey's new Weinstein Company would "pay for the whole d**n thing".

This month has seen a new wave of women, rising up and speaking on sexual harassment.
