Wenger 'not suspicious' of playing Sanchez against City

Kolasinac has quickly adapted to the left wing-back spot under Arsene Wenger, and he has typically won over the club's faithful with a couple of stellar performances in the attack front in particular.

The Gunners now turn their attentions back to Europa League affairs and their home clash against Red Star Belgrade on Thursday night.

Speaking at his post-match news conference at The Emirates on Saturday, Wenger said: "It's fantastic [Ramsey's 50th goal for Arsenal]". At the moment he's marked well, [opponents] double up on him, but he still creates many risky situations.

"When you are a football player you have a social contract with the rest of the team and I never question that".

The Frenchman continued: "I think he is coming back stronger physically". One thing has been made clear by the report that the Citizens are not giving up on their target, but are just stalling the deal for now and will come back to their terms when the time is right. "Once you don't respect that, it is hard to say that you play football".

Wenger gives every impression of glacial indifference to his 800 landmark.

Some will be relieved to hear that he sees a thousand matches in charge as a very distant prospect. It's not like, with all respect, 10 or 15 years ago where you had a couple of teams that wouldn't be able to win against the top ones.

Paul Clement has only 767 games to last at Swansea before he catches up with Saturday's opposite number. However, they turned a corner last weekend as Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette started together for the first time for the Gunners this campaign and the impact was instant as all three got on the score sheet during a convincing 5-2 win over Everton at Goodison Park.

"There are two ways to go - you ignore your age and you live like you live for ever or you think: 'OK.' I am born for competition".
