Horror as cops find SEVERED HEADS and body parts in flat”

One of the nine dismembered bodies found in cool boxes has been identified as a missing 23-year-old woman and a neighbour claimed a "nasty smell" had been present since August. Police suspect that the bodies include the body of the missing woman, who may have met Shiraishi on an internet site for people looking to commit suicide. He told police, "I did this several times before".

Japanese police have found nine bodies, including two with their heads severed and dumped in a cool box, in a flat in the Tokyo suburbs, media reported on Tuesday. Police are investigating further, reports said.

The man is now undergoing questioning on suspicion of abandoning a corpse.

An investigation was launched after the woman's older brother reported her missing to the Takao Police Station in western Tokyo on October 24, saying he had not been able to contact her since October 21. The brother later used her Twitter account password and found that she had been exchanging messages with Shiraishi, the sources said. There is a day care located nearby.

Security camera footage showed the victim and the suspect walking together at JR Hachioji Station and Sobudai-mae Station.

The man added, however, that he hadn't heard any unusual noise or voices coming from the apartment.
