James Tedesco King Hit In Brawl With Teammate

James Tedesco King Hit In Brawl With Teammate”

The Italian Rugby League has released a statement about an alleged incident World Cup teammates James Tedesco and Shannon Wakeham.

According to reports, Wakeman believed Tedesco had approached his girlfriend, leading to the Huddersfield Giants player punching the fullback and a brawl erupting at The Pier Bar, a popular nightspot on the Cairns waterfront.

The players, who have not been named, will appear before an internal review committee, said the Federazione Italiana Rugby League (FIRL).

"FIRL understands the importance of ensuring that players are not to engage in conduct that is detrimental or damaging to rugby league or the Rugby League World Cup".

The Rugby League World Cup campaign for one of the Fiji Bati's pool opponents has turned sour.

Tournament chief executive Andrew Hill says that the matter has been referred to Rugby League World Cup integrity unit for investigation and that the Italian officials are cooperating with the organising committee.

A statement from Federazione Italian Rugby League confirmed an internal review was held on Monday and the players will now be asked to speak to a committee.

The teammate has allegedly kept his place in the squad and will travel with the team to Townsville for the team's next match against America on Sunday.
