Warriors' Draymond Green says $25K fine doesn't add up

Warriors' Draymond Green says $25K fine doesn't add up”

Golden State Warriors big man Draymond Green criticized the NBA's disciplinary procedures after being fined $25,000 for his role in a recent altercation with Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal, according to Chris Haynes of ESPN.

Later, the National Basketball Association leveled fines to both Beal and Draymond for $50,000 and $25,000, respectively.

Beal was eventually fined $50,000, while Green was hit with a $25,000 fine for "failing to disengage". It looked to me like Oubre came out there running into the crowd and caused a lot more. I grabbed him and held my ground, and then they slammed me on top of him.

Draymond Green got fined for being Draymond Green. How do you disengage at that point?

The two-time All-Star and Beal got entangled following a rebounding battle, where the Wizards guard hit him in the face and neck area. Green grabbed Beal and the two got locked up. "I have never heard that before in my life". But, silly me to think they're going to take a tech back from me.

"And out in the world, if somebody hits you, you're allowed to defend yourself". Self-defense. I got hit and didn't even hit back and got fined. That just don't add up to me. That's fine, but don't be so obvious that you're not the biggest fan of me. It was Green's second technical of the game after he questioned an official on an offensive foul, though he thought the first might be rescinded because he said he inquired how he could back down because he hadn't used his shoulder. "That's cool, but be fair across the board". Green has made some mistakes in his career, and we've forgiven him.

Kerr signed a five-year, $25 million deal in May 2014, has led the Warriors to two championships in three seasons (in 2014-15 and 2016-17), and, despite a slightly wobbly 4-3 start, including a loss at Oracle Arena to Detroit on Sunday, they are heavy favorites to repeat this season.
