Jinnah's only daughter, Dina Wadia, passes away at 98”

Mumbai: Dina Wadia, the daughter of Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah, passed away at her home in NY today, a spokesperson of Wadia group said.

Dina Wadia - Rattanbai Petit and Jinnah's daughter - passed away on Thursday, Geo News reported.

Dina Wadia was born on August 15, 1919.

She only came to Pakistan twice in her lifetime.

After marrying to a Parsi businessman she stayed in India and subsequently moved to the United Kingdom. She had never visited Pakistan since her father's funeral in September 1948. "May his [Jinnah's] dream for Pakistan come true", she wrote in the visitor's book at the Quaid-e-Azam mausoleum in Karachi.

Taking a cue from her mother's hereditary business in the textile industry, she also took keen interest in the management of Bombay Dyeing, the textile firm managed by her son Nusli Wadia.

She also went to the tomb of Madar-e-Millat Fatima Jinnah to pay respects to her aunt and Flagstaff House Pakistan to host the flag of Pakistan and her father's house Wazir Mansion.

Her husband Neville died in 1996 while her son Nusli Wadia is living in India. In the third, her father is dictating a letter, showing Mohammad Ali Jinnah's political persona.

Reacting to the demise of country's founder's daughter, many people took to Twitter and expressed their condolences and grief.
