NFL's most powerful owners targeted in Kaepernick's collusion case

NFL's most powerful owners targeted in Kaepernick's collusion case”

The NFL's legal team has received requests for depositions and electronic information in Colin Kaepernick's collusion grievance, a league source said, with the quarterback's lawyers seeking to interview several owners and pursuing email and text messages from numerous teams and the league office.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the trio of owners have been ordered to turn over all emails and phone records related to Colin Kaepernick and will be deposed on the record about the situation.

However, McNair's apparent refusal to hand Kaepernick a workout is a pretty clear sign the Texans are not willing to break the apparent collusion among NFL owners and finally give Kap another job in the league.

The 49ers quarterback turned NFL martyr is charging that NFL teams, in "calculated coordination" with President Trump, blackballed him from the league after he became the face of the NFL anthem protests that he started to fight against racial inequality.

The grievance was filed last month under the league's Collective Bargaining Agreement, according to a statement from Mark Geragos, Kaepernick's attorney. Additionally, they've asked to speak with San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York, who Kaepernick used to play for, and Jerry Jones, who has been outspoken about player protests, insisting that any Cowboys player who didn't stand for the national anthem would be benched.

Kaepernick, who's remained unsigned since opting out of his contract with the Niners in March, explained his decision to protest during the anthem to Steve Wyche of NFL.com in August 2016. McNair warned against having "inmates running the prison," a comment that was heavily criticized by his own team and athletes around the sports world.
