Anthony Martial backs himself for more starts at Manchester United

Anthony Martial backs himself for more starts at Manchester United”

But despite some impressive performances for United, Martial remains self-critical in his desire to improve his game.

He has got even more reasons to do so now that he has been recalled by France: "I think the difference is that previous year I didn't have a good season but, for now, things are going pretty well".

"It's easier to start the game", he added.

Martial said of Jose Mourinho's former team: "They (Chelsea) haven't started as well as they did a year ago, but Chelsea is a big team and they'll certainly try to beat us". However, Mourinho worked his magic with the Frenchman and now he's enjoying new life at Manchester United.

"When you score and you're a forward, you're happy".

"That I was not speaking with Ander Herrera any more?". If I continue like this, I think I'll play a little more. After a 2016/17 where Martial looked unsettled, it's great to see the 2015 Golden Boy happy again at the club.

"I have faith in my qualities, and I think the manager has confidence in me, too. I must continue to keep up good performances for my club and if I've got the chance to start over there [for France] I will do the best I can".

There's no doubt that Martial and Rashford are two of the most talented prospects in Europe. He has, however, started three of his four Champions League appearances so far this season. This attacking trident could potentially terrorize Europe for years to come if they meshed.

While in his Chelsea days that tactic was successful - no more so than in the 1-0 win at Manchester City in February 2014 - in more recent times he has really struggled to assert control away from home in the big games. "I think that will be how things will go well".

M.E.N. Sport report that PSG officials made contact with Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes, after the United manager spoke in detail about the French side last month. And with more playing time, his role and abilities will only increase.
