Kogi State Former Gov, Idris Wada Detained By EFCC”

The former Kogi governor was quizzed into the night and one top source in EFCC said that it was unlikely that the former governor would be released Monday night.

Alison-Madueke allegedly disbursed $115 million through Nenadi Usman, director of finance of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation.

Abuja-Former Kogi State governor, Idris Wada, was yesterday, grilled over his role in the sharing of N500 million of the N23 billion which former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison Madueke, reportedly handed Peoples Democratic Party to use and compromise the 2015 presidential election.

Wada who arrived the EFCC office around 12pm and was still in custody around 9 pm on Monday evening.

The spokesman for the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that Wada was detained by the commission.

"Dalladi told interrogators that he chaired the eight-man committee that disbursed the money for Taraba state".

He was still being interrogated at the time of filing this report last night.

So far, the EFCC has quizzed a number of former governors and ministers over the Diezani bribe money. Only last week, it detained former Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State, for the same reason.

Some ministers were also said to have benefited from the slush fund.

Mrs. Alison-Madueke, the former Petroleum Resources Minister, is now been tried in the United Kingdom for money laundering and related offences.

The source said numerous PDP chieftains had promised to return some of the funds but had failed to do so and therefore had to be invited.
