Papa John's tells racists not to buy its pizzas”

The site has already given Wendy's and New Balance its kiss of death, so the illustration's caption can't excite Schnatter or the chain's other execs: "Papa John: Official pizza of the alt-right?" The pizza chain has blamed the lower rating partly on the national anthem protests that have troubled the league this season.

A Papa John's representative said Monday that the company doesn't want white supremacists buying its pizzas after a neo-Nazi website endorsed the company.

In it, he blamed the NFL's handling of players' protests on police brutality and racism for their recent dip in pizza sales.

Schnatter's comments drew ire on social media. Greg Creed, CEO of Pizza Hut owner Yum Brands Inc., claims his company hasn't seen the same slump in sales and stock price that Papa John's has suffered, FOX 59 reported Sunday.

"We condemn racism in all forms and any and all hate groups that support it", Peter Collins, the senior director of public relations at Papa John's, told Louisville Courier Journal.

Papa John's said that the chain doesn't want racist individuals or groups buying its pizza.

Papa John's has made a decision to put distance between itself and that logic.

Papa John's is also said to be completely rethinking its advertising strategy as consumers move to digital. "He's really uniquely qualified to do that because his entire - I think he has over 5,000 stores and those stores basically send messages out to consumers and then they pick up the phone and either respond to that or not. That's what will put the league in a positive place for the players, the fan base and the partners associated with them".
