Al Horford evaluated for concussion, won't play vs. Lakers”

According to the Celtics, Horford did not experience any symptoms immediately.

Boston Celtics center Al Horford will miss tonight's game against the Los Angeles Lakers as he recovers from a concussion, going through the National Basketball Association protocol for the injury, the team announced today via radio voice Sean Grande.

The Celtics are hosting the Los Angeles Lakers at the T.D. Garden Wednesday for an 8 p.m. game.

This is Horford's second head injury in a span of a year, as the 31-year-old missed nine games early in the 2016-17 season due to a concussion he suffered in an October 31 practice.

While Horford is hot from long range, the Celtics are hot in general, entering Wednesday on a nine-game winning streak.

Horford caught an elbow from Atlanta Hawks swingman Kent Bazemore during Monday's game, which was not called a flagrant foul or been reviewed by the league office as of yet. His timetable for a return is unclear, though, as the team plans to monitor him as he progresses through the protocol.

Horford is a four-time All-Star who is putting up 14.6 points, 9.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game this season, not to mention he's shooting a blistering 47.4 percent from 3-point territory.
