Raiders Players Respond To Miko Grimes' Allegations About Derek Carr

The controversial theory that Derek Carr was left unprotected on goal by his Raiders' offensive line is not new, but Miko Grimes' assertion of it as fact this morning has raised new reactions.

The game Grimes seems to refer to was the Raiders' Sept. 24 matchup at the Washington Redskins.

"A lot of people don't know, but the reason Derek Carr got injured was because the Raiders offensive line allowed him to get injured", Miko explained as she launched into her story.

And so he was so upset about it, when the whole offensive line said they were going to kneel, he was like, 'No, you're not kneeling. "You're gonna stand for the flag, '" Grimes said. The injury happened in Week Four, when the Raiders played the Broncos in Denver.

It is simply an extremely hard task to prove that the Raiders made a decision to go that route because of internal conflict over their stance on kneeling during the national anthem.

Just last week, statements leaked from a conference call where Papa John's owner, John Schnatter claimed National Football League players taking a knee during during the anthem and the lack of damage control from the National Football League commissioner has hurt business for his pizza franchise.

Put simply, there was nothing to suggest that the Raiders' offensive line was deliberately trying not to block for Carr. The play looked to be a delayed screen intended for tight end Jared Cook, but when Broncos safety Darian Stewart sniffed it out and followed Carr, he opted to tuck and run, and he quickly was twisted up and hit in the back.

Each week, Raiders Quarterback Derek Carr joins Sports Director Tommy Tran to talk about what went right.

Told by several Raiders sources this claim is entirely false.

"I'm told 'Derek Carr never told his team to stand, sit or kneel".

The bad thing about 2017 is that things that are not things can become things in a short amount of time, thanks to the proliferation of social media and the quick way in which stories travel.

The Raiders' 2017 season took another unusual turn on Tuesday. "It's insane how people will make up lies and tell a story so false and untrue 2 get attention", Penn wrote. It's unclear whether his tweet was related to Grimes' comments.
