Air India takes dig at IndiGo after manhandling incident at Delhi Airport”

The footage shows two IndiGo runway staff blocking the passenger's attempts to board the Delhi airport shuttle bus - with one worker seen with his hands around the customer's neck before flooring him to the ground.

IndiGo has not been known for such incidents in the past, Rampuria said, adding that while this issue can cause a temporary strain on the company, it would not have a long-lasting impact on shares.

In a video that went public on November 7th, a passenger Rajeev Katiyal is seen getting pinned to the ground and choked by IndiGo ground staff, after an altercation that reportedly originated when airline staff asked the passenger to not stand under the wing of the aircraft. He and another airline employee then restrain Katiyal.

"I was standing in the shade of a plane when a ground staff started shouting at me in a very rude manner".

Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha on Tuesday said that a detailed report has been sought from budget carrier IndiGo regarding an incident at Delhi airport last month, when a passenger was manhandled by the airline's staff.

"In a civilised society fisticuffs have to be condemned.Action has to be taken", Raju told reporters.

Raju also said that the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) will check whether certain procedures were violated, as the incident happened in the security area.

The video of the incident, which took place on October 15, shows the duo thrashing and abusing each other.

Meanwhile, President and Whole Time Director of IndiGo Aditya Ghosh, in a letter to the Civil Aviation ministry said that Montu Kalra - the self-professed whistle-blower who was sacked - not only instigated the incident but also provoked the passenger by shooting a video on his mobile phone. Passenger safety and security is our top-most priority. "Indigo senior executives have personally apologised to the passenger".
