Google introduces waiting time for restaurants on Google Search

The update will arrive to Google search and Maps "soon". It will show you how long you'll have to wait to get a seat at a restaurant at any particular hour.

"There, you'll see the estimated wait time at that very moment".

To see wait times for almost a million sit-down restaurants around the world that allow walk-ins, just search for the restaurant on Google, open the business listing, and scroll down to the Popular Times section.

The US-based tech giant is reportedly working on an update to its "Search" and "Maps" platform, which will display how long one has to wait to get a seat at a restaurant at any particular hour, for almost a million sit-down restaurants around the world. And by tapping on any of the four bars, you'll see the estimated wait for that time period. The new feature is similar to the app Nowait, which likewise shows users the current wait times for nearby chain restaurants like Chili's and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Once users search for the restaurant on Google and open the business listing, alongside the Popular Times section they will now see the estimated wait time. It also introduced the feature to bars past year.
