Matthew McConaughey surprises town, delivers turkeys

Actor Matthew McConaughey celebrated his 48th birthday on Saturday -and he spent the day giving back.

Matthew McConaughey teamed up with the bourbon distillery Wild Turkey in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, on Monday to pass out frozen turkeys for Thanksgiving. The video shows a surprised woman who is thrilled to see McConaughey deliver the Thanksgiving bird.

McConaughey and 250 volunteers delivered over 4,000 turkeys, donated by Butterball, throughout the town on November 4, which also happened to be the Longview native's 48th birthday. "I think it's kinda scientific and here's kind of living proof of it right here this morning".

"Let's go make some people happy and put some smiles on some faces, deliver some turkeys, there's some people that are gonna be happy to get "em", he said. "Just keep livin", thanks for being here". Some people on the internet called out McConaughey, saying he gave out turkeys to people who didn't appear to "need" them.

"He was like, 'do y'all know what's happening?' I was like, 'yeah, sexy man carrying a turkey, '" said Brittany Miller told WYMT-TV about her meeting with McConaughey.

The Oscar victor opened up about charity work while speaking with ET last month.
